Redding police station plans move forward; council OKs work for design

Redding set in motion the planning for a $7.4 million police station at City Hall. On Tuesday, councilors voted 4-1 in favor of a proposal to appropriate about $1 million in bond proceeds and contract with the architectural firm Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto for design work. The facility, provided the project stays the course, would open late 2014 and replace the old, dilapidated police headquarters on California Street, a site plagued by sewage spills, water quality concerns and water leaks….

NMR’s civic studio is honored to collaborate with Shasta County to design and construct an Adult Rehabilitation Center that provides a safe and secure environment to advance the rehabilitation of adult offenders. Shasta County Probation Department Ribbon Cutting

On December 15th, NMR Principal Kyle Matti and Project Representative Kip Hall attended the Shasta County Probation Office ribbon cutting in celebration of the County’s relocation of the Probation Department offices. Shasta County recently purchased two buildings on the block immediately south of the existing courthouse to accommodate the probation department and the public defender’s office. NMR Designs Chico Municipal Airport Expansion

On Tuesday, July 26th JetChico presented NMR’s conceptual terminal expansion design for the Chico Municipal Airport Terminal to the Airport Commission for consideration. After losing commercial air service in Chico in December 2014, JetChico has been looking for ways to lure air service back to the area. NMR Design Featured on ABC’s Modern Family

On March 15th, ABC aired Season 8, episode 17 of Modern Family, titled “Pig Moon Rising.” The episode featured NMR’s design of the Shasta County Administration Building in downtown Redding, CA. Completed in 2005, the Shasta County Administration project was completed under budget, and has received several design awards, including “Best Civic Project” in 2005 by California Construction Magazine, and the 2005 Woodwork Institute Award for design excellence. On November 10th 2013, Food Network aired Season 1, episode 2 of Restaurant Express, titled “Tantrum in Temecula.” The episode featured NMR’s design of the Temecula Civic Center in Temecula, CA.
