The Sutter Union High School District multi-purpose building was the second increment of construction upgrades at the Sutter Union High School Campus in Sutter, California. The multi-purpose building provided the campus with not only a new interior gymnasium including both boy’s and girl’s locker rooms, but also a full commercial kitchen and cafeteria which the campus to-date had been operating without. The new gymnasium and locker rooms increased flexibility of the school’s vibrant athletic programs and eased strain on the undersized existing gymnasium and locker room building that was built during the school’s first major expansion in the mid 1900’s. However, it was the inclusion of the full commercial kitchen and cafeteria that was a welcome addition to the school’s ever-growing student population. The multi-purpose Building was constructed in approximately 14 months.
