Project Description

This new facility will be just the second of its kind in the nation, serving active duty service members, Veterans, and their families. The Health Care Center will offer a complete range of services including Primary Care, Pediatric, and Specialty Ambulatory clinics, an Eye Care clinic, indoor-outdoor Physical Therapy Suite, Audiology and Speech Pathology Suites, a Mental Health center, and imaging and laboratory services. The HCC will also provide conference and group therapy spaces, a large cafeteria with adjoining outdoor eating space, and an accessible landscape for patients and staff. The facility will be LEED Gold Certified under the LEED for Healthcare 2009 Edition. The design for this facility focused on maximizing the efficiency of care delivery under the VA’s Patient Aligned Care Team model from the ground up to create a site, building and patient experience that together make this facility truly World-Class. This facility and the concepts that have been developed for it are being used as a model for subsequent VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
