Congratulations to Tom Graham on becoming NMR’s first Certified Access Specialist (CASp) architect! A CASp architect has completed all the necessary testing required by the Certified Access Specialist program of the state of California under the Division of the State Architect (DSA.) NMR is proud to make this service available to our clients.

As a CASp architect, Tom Graham provides inspections and reports that identify construction related accessibility issues, offers recommendations for compliance and provides clients with a state issued certificate of inspection verifying that a CASp survey has been conducted for their property or business. Businesses or properties who hire certified CASp individuals demonstrate their desire to comply with state and federal accessibility laws, mitigate liability and profit from legal benefits in the event of a lawsuit.

Services contracted by a CASp may include the following:

  • Review of facility plans and specifications for compliance with state and federal accessibility laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Investigate a facility for compliance with state and federal accessibility standards, codes and regulations.
  • Conduct accessibility research, prepare accessibility reports, and/or conduct accessibility inspection (survey).
  • Lawsuit verification and consultation – expert witness.
  • Post construction reviews for compliance confirmation.
