Marina, California – Residents and stakeholders can watch the construction progress of the new VA/DA Health Care Center via an onsite webcam. Located at the former Fort Ord in Marina, the webcam records the ongoing progress of construction every 15 minutes, http://webcampub.multivista.com. The camera has been taking still images to create a time-lapse video of the project, and will continue recording until the Health Care Center is complete.
NMR, in collaboration with The Hamstra Group, and Otto Construction was awarded the contract and is proud to announce that we will be achieving LEED-HC Gold Certification with this facility! We are especially pleased that the credits that help us achieve LEED-HC Gold Certification are related to energy efficiency which will provide exceptional value to the VA throughout the life of the building.
When completed, the three-story facility will provide care for the approximately 80,000 active duty military and retired veterans living on California’s Central Coast. The new building will provide primary and specialty care including women’s health, prosthetics, physical rehabilitation, eye clinic, cardiovascular podiatry and dermatology. Sub-specialty clinics include mental health care, audiology, physical and occupation therapy. Ancillary and diagnostic services include imaging, laboratory, pharmacy and patients resource center. The clinic will replace the VA’s existing clinic which is too small to serve the current population and cannot be expanded.
