On Friday May 6th, NMR Marketing Coordinator Krista Buckel attended the North Valley Housing Trust’s (NVHT) inaugural Spring Masquerade, Unmasking Solutions to Homelessness. Fundraiser attendees heard formerly homeless residents of Chico share about NVHT’s involvement in their transformation from jobless, homeless addicts to business owners with homes. While the first event of it’s kind for NVHT, the non-profit plans to host the event annually to raise funds for building homes and supportive networks to end homelessness in the Chico community.
NVHT played an integral role in funding the Valley View Apartment complex which broke ground on Monday April 25th in Chico. Founded in March 2012, NVHT’s mission is to leverage local resources to build community and advance the Chico economy by creating affordable homes and eliminating homelessness, thereby enhancing self-sufficiency and sustaining families.
