maker-faire-3On Saturday, November 12th NMR Architect Hayley Andersen and Project Representative Page Ledbetter joined forces with NMR Architect Tyler Hendrickson and his maker space ONESHOP to participate in Shasta County’s very first Mini Maker Faire.

Nearly 3,000 entrepreneurs, makers, craftsman, students and families flocked to the Redding Civic Auditorium to celebrate invention, creativity, resourcefulness, technology and the maker movement. The Mini Maker Faire featured the innovative World Record Paper Airplane Designer, Rube Goldberg Challenge, Augmented Reality Sandbox, Tapigami Interactive Art along with student challenges like the pasta bridge engineering challenge, an egg head challenge, STEAM art sculpture. Over 100 makers participated in Shasta County’s first Maker Faire including Shasta College, Redding Electric Utility, Butte College, Simpson University, Humboldt State University, Odyssey of the Mind, Redding STEM Academy, Anderson High School, College of the Redwoods and Chrysalis Charter School.
