This project involved an addition and remodel for a branch for Cornerstone Community Bank. It is located on property adjacent to the I-5 freeway and fronting on a major road. The existing building is approximately 30 years old and had been a series of fast-food restaurants prior to being abandoned a few years ago. NMR worked with Cornerstone Bank to show that the building could function as a bank and a small addition was planned for a new public entrance. The exterior of the building was reshaped with metal cladding over shaped cornices, while the new addition was turned into a vertical feature with Ipe wood cladding for material contrast and warmth.
