Project Description

Harrison Stadium serves both high schools in Oroville as there are no other local venue to host high school football games. Since the stadium needed to be ready for the following football season, the project was divided into five increments. This allowed NMR to fast track and prioritize approval and construction of critical functions to meet the district’s needs. Increment One was approved two days after graduation. Demolition began the next day and every milestone mandated by the district was met throughout construction. The track and field, new lighting, new scoreboard, and parking lot were all installed for the first game of the 2009 football season. Construction ceased for the 2009-2010 school year, while the facility was used for football games, soccer matches, and track & field meets. Immediately after graduation in June of 2010, the existing bleachers were demolished and new bleachers were installed. The new ticket booth, snack bar, and rest rooms were then built and the existing locker rooms were renovated. A close working relationship and good communication with the district, general contractor, and DSA contributed to the overall success of this incremental project.
